RedHawks Four Run Fifth Leads to Sound Win Over Nashville

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma City RedHawks (4-1) scored four runs in the fifth inning against Nashville Sounds (1-4) starter Seth McClung in a 4-2 win, the RedHawks fourth straight victory, before 2,689 Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

RedHawks reliever Sergio Perez (1-0) dealt one scoreless inning with a walk for the winning decision. Starter Henry Sosa gave up one run and four hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings. Sosa dealt 74 pitches with 46 strikes. Nashville starter Seth McClung (0-1) took the losing decision, giving up four runs and three hits, all in the fifth inning, after pitching four hitless innings. RedHawks closer Juan Abreu (2) saved the game with a scoreless ninth inning.

Nashville opened the scoring in the first inning against RedHawks starter Henry Sosa. Caleb Gindl hit a two-out triple and scored on a Sean Halton single for a 1-0 score.

After suffering four hitless innings at the hands of Nashville starter Seth McClung, the RedHawks broke through in the fifth inning. Brett Wallace and Brad Snyder hit back-to-back singles before a Jimmy Paredes single knocked in Wallace for a 1-1 game. Snyder later scored on a wild pitch for a 2-1 score. Later in the frame, Fernando Martinez singled in Paredes and Landon Powell for a 4-1 lead.

The Sounds got on the board again in the sixth inning against RedHawks reliever Adalberto Flores. Edwin Maysonet doubled with two out and scored on a Corey Patterson triple and trimmed the RedHawks lead to 4-2.
