LAST GAME: Oklahoma got strong performances from four pitchers en route to a 3-1 win in the series opener in New Orleans. Luis Mendoza, make his third rehab start during this stint on the Rangers disabled list, threw four perfect innings, while Dustin Nippert followed with three innings of shutout baseball. Nippert notched the win and Wes Littleton earned his second save.

HARRISON PROMOTED: Texas promoted Matt Harrison to the RedHawks roster yesterday and he will make his first ever Triple-A start tonight. The southpaw made nine starts for Frisco this season, going 3-2 with an ERA of 3.33. He held opposing hitters to an average of .263, striking out 35 and walking 14 over 46 innings pitched. He fared comparably well against right and left-handers for the RoughRiders thus far this season, holding lefties to a .276 mark and righties to a .261 average. Harrison was acquired in the Mark Teixeira deal with Atlanta last season.

SECOND TIME AROUND: The RedHawks with face another Zephyrs starting pitcher that they faced during their three-game sweep in May. One day after beating Ruddy Lugo for the second time this season, they faced off against Brian Stokes. Stokes was the starter for New Orleans in Oklahoma's 5/20 win at the Brick. Stokes allowed five runs on eight hits over six innings in the RedHawks 8-2 win.

AA ALL-STARS: The Rangers Double-A affiliate Frisco had eight players selected for the Texas League All-Star game, including two current RedHawks. Chris Davis was selected as the starter at first base, while tonight's starting pitcher Matt Harrison was also chosen. Neither will be able to participate since they were promoted recently. Frisco's other honorees are C Max Ramirez (starter), OF Ben Harrison (starter), OF Steve Murphy (starter), SS Elvis Andrus (reserve), RHP Trey Hodges, and RHP Brian Gordon.

NEW ORLEANS AT A GLANCE: Yesterday's loss was the first this month for the Zephyrs (3-1). New Orleans lost their first six games to start the month of May... The Zephyrs enter play today with the league's lowest batting average at .243, but the second best team ERA at 4.00... Michel Abreu hit into his league leading 17th double play last night. Only one other player in the PCL has a double-digit GIDP tally (Portland's Chase Headley (10)).

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Texas beat Cleveland 9-4... Frisco fell 4-0 to San Antonio... Bakersfield lost 6-2 at home to Stockton... Clinton lost 6-5 to Peoria.

DOT-DOT-DOT: Pitching coach Andy Hawkins is taking his team-mandated vacation during this road trip. Mike Anderson, the pitching coach for short-season Spokane, is filling in for Hawkins during this trip. With the addition of Anderson, all three coaches on this trip played for either the 89ers or the RedHawks during their minor league careers... Drew Meyer's home run Monday was his first since June 29, 2007 off Iowa's Bret Prinz, spanning 338 days, 126 of which have been game days. Meyer played in 65 games between his home runs and went 217 at bats between blasts... The RedHawks are hitting .271 against both right and left handed pitchers respectively this season despite the fact that they have nearly three times as many at bat against righties.
