
RedHawks Acquire Pair of Pitchers; Release Kline

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead have made a series of roster moves in advance of tonight's game against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo. The RedHawks have acquired RHP Eric Draxton from the Amarillo Sox for cash, RHP Curtis Camilli from the Fort Worth Cats of the United Baseball League (UBL) for a player to be named later and released LHP Eric Kline.
Draxton, 27, joins the RedHawks after spending all of last year and this season with Amarillo. In 2014, he was 0-1 with a 2.18 ERA and six saves in 22 games for the Sox. Draxton pitched 20.2 innings and allowed seven runs (five earned) on 19 hits for Amarillo. He has struck out 25 batters and walked twelve.
In 2013, Draxton was 1-6 with a 3.08 ERA and 13 saves in 46 games for the Sox. He allowed 20 runs (17 hits) on 39 hits in 49.2 innings pitched. Draxton struck out 61 batters and walked 20. It was his first season in the American Association.
Draxton began his professional career in 2010 with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League after completing his college career at Cal State Bakersfield. He also pitched in 2011 or the Miners before moving on to the San Angelo (Tex.) Colts of the UBL in 2012. In his career, Draxton is 9-11 with a 3.08 ERA and 58 saves in 157 games pitched. He has struck out 178 batters and walked 73 in 166.1 innings pitched.
Camilli, 24, joins the RedHawks after starting the season with the Fort Worth Cats of the UBL. He was 4-2 with a 2.39 ERA in seven starts for the Cats, including a complete game shutout. In 49.0 innings, Camilli has allowed 19 runs (13 earned) on 51 hits. He struck out 39 batters and walked ten.
Camilli pitched last season with the Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association and the Edinburg Roadrunners of the United Baseball League. He was 7-5 with a 2.90 ERA in 15 games (14 starts) for the Roadrunners before joining Grand Prairie for the end of the season. Camilli appeared in four games (three starts) for Grand Prairie and was 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA.
Camilli began his professional career in 2012 with White Sands (N.M.) of the Pecos League following a college career at Lee University (Tenn.) and West Valley College (Calif.). He is 16-14 with a 3.92 ERA in 38 career games (35 starts). Camilli has struck out 196 batters and walked 93 in 238.2 innings pitched.
Kline was 0-1 with a 6.05 ERA in 16 games for the RedHawks this season. He allowed 17 runs (13 earned) in 19.1 innings with 16 walks and 13 strikeouts.
