MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis pounded out 11 hits en route to a 7-1 win over Portland Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.
The Redbirds claimed their first lead of the night with a three-run sixth and followed up with three more runs in the seventh to seal the club's third straight victory. Amaury Cazana's two-run single in the sixth capped the rally and Bryan Anderson's two-run double capped the seventh-inning rally. Anderson, Cazana and Daniel Descalso all drove in two runs with Mark Hamilton collecting three hits to lead Memphis. Portland was held to three hits and did not have a hit after the third inning when they scored their lone run.
Memphis starter Lance Lynn earned his second win of the year with a steady six innings. The big right-hander gave up one run on three hits with six strikeouts retiring the final 10 batters he faced. Three Redbirds relievers followed with three perfect innings. Josh Geer took the loss for the Beavers surrendering six runs on seven hits in three innings of relief.
