MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Penny Madness hits AutoZone Park!

The Redbirds are joining the rest of The Bluff City in celebrating the hire of Memphian Penny Hardaway as Memphis Tigers men's basketball coach with the "Welcome (back for a) Penny Special!"

For just a penny, fans can purchase a Field Box or Bluff ticket to Redbirds Opening Day at AutoZone Park on Tuesday, April 10! The deal is only available for a limited time.

"The whole town is crazy with Penny Madness, and we are totally on board with the excitement!" Redbirds President/General Manager Craig Unger said. "April 10 is the first day the Pacific Coast League champions return to AutoZone Park, and we could think of no better way to celebrate the PCL Champs being back at AutoZone Park and Penny Hardaway being back at the University of Memphis than to offer this amazing deal!"

Free "Family Fun Day" at AutoZone Park This Saturday

The Redbirds are holding a free "Family Fun Day" at AutoZone Park from noon-2:00 p.m. on Saturday featuring numerous games and activities and an Easter candy drop from a helicopter onto the field at the end of the day. Family Fun Day is scheduled to include inflatables, games, and activities in the Plaza, catch and whiffle ball on the field, Kids Run the Bases, ballpark tours, the St. Louis Cardinals Spring Training game on the videoboard, and more.

The Redbirds' 2018 season begins on Thursday, April 5 at Round Rock, and the home opener is Tuesday, April 10 against Omaha. More information on the upcoming season, including promotions and giveaways, will be announced at www.memphisredbirds.com in the coming weeks.
