Rochester Red Wings News Release

-TURNING POINT: The Wings snapped their 20-inning scoreless streak by scoring 4 runs in the first inning off RailRiders starter Dellin Betances... After Chris Herrmann and Clete Thomas delivered RBI hits, Chris Colabello hit a mammoth 2-run, home run to left field staking the Red Wings to a 4-1 lead... KEY MOMENT: LHP Tyler Robertson relieved Daniel Turpen and struck out former IL MVP Dan Johnson with runners on second and third and 2 outs in the 7th inning to preserve a 5-2 lead.

-The Wings snapped their season-long 7-game losing streak on Thursday -- their longest skid since an 8-gamer April 25-May 2, 2012... They also avoided being swept at home in a 4-game series for the first time since August 26-29, 2010.

-Chris Herrmann's RBI double in the first inning was the first RBI recorded by a Red Wings player since Clete Thomas' leadoff home run against Pawtucket on Sunday -- a span of 37 innings.

-Wings 2B Eric Farris extended his hit streak to 5 games with a leadoff single in the 1st inning. After going 0-for-12 to start his Red Wings career, Farris is 6-for-18 over his streak... Farris is now tied with Colabello for the longest hit streak by a Red Wing this season.

-The RailRiders plated a run in the first inning on a Dan Johnson RBI single -- Scranton/WB scored in the first inning in all 4 games of the series.

-Streak Stopper: RHP Virgil Vasquez is the first Red Wings pitcher to 2 wins this season and both have stopped losing streaks. His first win of the season put an end to the Wings 3-game losing streak to start the year and Thursday's victory halted a 7-game skid.
