
Red Wings Place Right-Handed Pitcher Carlos Gutierrez on 7-Day Disabled List

ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Red Wings today placed right-handed pitcher Carlos Gutierrez on the 7-Day Disabled List with a right shoulder labrum strain.
Gutierrez sustained the injury Friday vs. Pawtucket (Red Sox) in the sixth inning, exiting the game after surrendering a three-run homer to Will Middlebrooks. Gutierrez is 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA (4 ER/4.0 IP) in three appearances.
The 25-year-old, who was selected by the Twins in the first round (27th overall) of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, is in his second season with the Red Wings.
