GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday assigned goaltender Jared Coreau and forward Tomas Nosek to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Coreau became the 158th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL when he debuted with the Red Wings in a 5-3 loss at the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins last Saturday.
Coreau, 25, has started 13 games this season for the Griffins and ranks among the AHL's leaders with eight wins (T7th), a 2.39 goals against average (T14th) and a 0.923 save percentage (10th).
The 6-foot-6 netminder recorded his first shutout of the season and 10th of his career on Nov. 11 to tie for third on the franchise's all-time list. Coreau continues to climb in the club's goaltending record book with 53 wins (7th), 90 games played (7th), 5199:38 minutes (5th) and 2,473 saves (5th).
A native of Perth, Ontario, Coreau is coming off a career year in 2015-16 when he established himself among the AHL's elite with 29 wins (T4th), a 2.43 GAA (10th), a 0.922 save percentage (T4th), 2,741:36 minutes (4th), 1,314 saves (5th) and six shutouts (3rd).

Nosek has skated in 11 games with the Griffins this season, tallying 10 points (2-8 - 10) and four PIM. He is currently riding a four-game point streak (2-5 - 7) and three-game assist streak.
In his third season as a Griffin, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound winger has played in 136 games in Grand Rapids since 2014 and accounted for 74 points (28-46 - 74), a plus-43 rating and 68 PIM.
