News 'CANES ASSIGN DAHLBECK TO CHARLOTTE

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned defenseman Klas Dahlbeck to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) for a conditioning stint. Dalhbeck will join Charlotte in Stockton, CA, where the Checkers face the Heat tonight.

Dalhbeck, 25, has appeared in nine games with the Hurricanes this season, totaling three points (1g, 2a) and 12 penalty minutes. The Katrineholm, Sweden, native skated in 71 games with the Arizona Coyotes in 2015-16, scoring two goals, earning six assists (8 points) and averaging 15:43 of ice time per game. Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in third round, 79th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Dahlbeck the has scored four goals and earned 11 assists (15 points) in 103 career NHL regular-season games with the Blackhawks, Coyotes and Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes visit the Anaheim Ducks tonight (10:30 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network), in the first game of a three-game road trip.
