Red Stars Forward Jen Hoy Called into U.S. U-23 Women's National Team

CHICAGO (Feb. 21, 2014) - The Chicago Red Stars today announced that forward Jen Hoy has been called up by the United States U-23 Women's National Team for the 2014 Six Nations Tournament from Feb. 24-March 6 in La Manga, Spain.

Hoy, a 23-year-old Sellersville, PA native, was drafted by the Red Stars in the 2013 NWSL College Draft. She was previously part of a 24-player training camp with the U-23 Women's National Team in San Diego from May 11-18, 2013. In her rookie year, Hoy was awarded NWSL Player of the Week honors for scoring two goals in the Red Stars 2-1 comeback victory over FC Kansas City on Aug. 18.

The United States will face the U-23 teams of Japan (March 1), Sweden (March 3) and Norway (March 5) during the tournament. Head coach Steve Swanson has named a roster of 20 players, including nine National Women's Soccer League players.
