FC Kansas City Signs Jen Buczkowski to New Contract

Prairie Village, Kansas (February 21, 2014) - FC Kansas City signed midfielder Jen Buczkowski to a new contract through the 2015 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season, the club announced today. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"We have some unfinished goals from last season," said Technical Director Huw Williams. "While we've made some moves to improve our team, it is incredibly important to us that we take care of our core players like Jen (Buczkowski) in order to accomplish those goals."
Buczkowski signed with FC Kansas City prior to the 2013 season and quickly became a staple in FC Kansas City's lineup. She was the team's Iron Woman last season for the 'Blues' playing all 1,980 minutes over 22 games along and notched two assists from the defensive midfield position.
"I'm very excited about what we are doing here," said Buczkowski. "This team and these fans are incredible and I am very happy to be playing here for the long-term."
U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team The U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team will open its 2014 campaign with a challenging trip to La Manga, Spain, for the Six Nations Tournament running from Feb. 24-March 6. The USA will play three international matches, facing the U-23 sides of Japan (March 1), Sweden (March 3) and Norway (March 5).
Four FC Kansas City players were selected to represent their country in this tournament. 2013 NWSL Rookie of the Year, Erika Tymrak, headlines the midfield. She is joined by FC Kansas City's 2014 draft picks Kassey Kallman, Jenna Richmond and Frances Silva.
FC Kansas City is a Women's Professional Soccer Team competing in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The "Blues" Inaugural Season saw them set numerous NWSL records and sweep all six individual post-season awards.
