
Red Deer Rebels Hold Prospects Camp

RED DEER, AB - The Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club announced today that they will hold a prospects camp June 9-10-11 at the Red Deer Arena. Participating in the camp will be non-roster players born in 1989, 1990, and 1991 that are currently on the Red Deer Rebels 50-man protected list. There will be 27 players attending.
Taking part this weekend will be the Rebels first round pick in 2005, Cassidy Mappin (Big Valley, AB) and their first round pick in 2006, Landon Ferraro (Burnaby, B.C.). Other local prospects include Colin Archer (Red Deer), Matt Fraser (Red Deer), Justin Moir (Red Deer), and Justin Weller (Daysland, AB).
The Rebels coaching staff of Brent Sutter, Dallas Gaume, Jesse Wallin, along with Head Scout Randy Peterson and the Rebels scouting staff will conduct the camp and evaluate the players in preparation for the 2006-2007 Western Hockey League season. The Red Deer Rebels Rookie and Main Training Camp will begin with on-ice sessions on Thursday, August 24th.
All sessions are open to the public.
The Red Deer Arena is located at 4725 - 43rd Street.
