
Red Claws Use Strong Second Half to Defeat Legends at Showcase

Santa Cruz, CA - Jan. 18, 2015 - Using a strong second half, the Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, bounced back from Thursday's loss with a thrilling 106-101 win over the Texas Legends Sunday.
Chris Babb finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, including nailing a huge three late in the 4th quarter, putting the Red Claws out of reach. Maine (17-5) got a solid performance off the bench by Jason Calliste, who poured in a career-best 18 points. The Red Claws trailed 85-73 after three quarters, but out-scored the Legends 33-16 in the 4th.
Babb scored 7 of Maine's final 9 points in the win. He went 6-11 from the floor, and 4-7 from three point range. Christian Watford added 14 points, and Jermaine Taylor 13. Along with Calliste, Rodney McGruder added 11 points off the bench.
The Red Claws finish 1-1 at the annual D-League Showcase. Maine continues its road trip Wednesday, with a 7 p.m. tip-off at Erie. Maine returns to the Portland Expo Saturday, January 24 against Sioux Falls.
