Maine Celtics News Release
The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, overcame a first-half deficit to spoil Raptors 905's party, 109-104. Thanks to Boston Celtics assignees Terry Rozier and Jordan Mickey, the Claws took the first-ever matchup with the D-League's first Canadian team, and Raptors 905's first home game.
Rozier finished with a near triple-double - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists - and Jordan Mickey had another monster night, putting up 18 points, 12 boards and 6 blocks. James Young, also on assignment from the Celtics, finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Omari Johnson kept Maine (2-1) in the game in the first half. Johnson finished with 21 points. Raptors 905 led 53-47 at halftime. The Red Claws held the 905 to just 19 points in the 3rd quarter, while scoring 32.
The Red Claws set a franchise record with 109 field goal attempts in the win. Maine finished shooting 40% on the night (44-109).
The Red Claws return to Maine for their seventh home opener tomorrow night. Maine hosts Raptors 905 at 7 p.m. at the Portland Expo. Maine and the 905 play one more time Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Tickets for both games are available by calling 207-210-6655 or visiting MaineRedClaws.com.
