Maine Red Claws guard Terry Rozier notched a game-high 25 points, including half of his team's 30 fourth-quarter points to lead the Red Claws (2-1) to a 109-104 win over Raptors 905 (0-3) Thursday night at Hershey Centre in Mississauga.
Raptors 905 jumped out to an early first-quarter lead in its inaugural home game and carried a six-point lead into the half on 12 points from Scott Suggs, nine from Axel Toupane and eight from Sim Bhullar off the bench.
Maine separated themselves in the third quarter, outscoring Raptors 905 32-19 and at one point leading by 11 in the frame. Raptors 905 brought the game back to a tie two separate times in the final period, but wasn't able to retake the lead following the Red Claws' 26-10 run midway through the third quarter.
In addition to Rozier's 25 points, he added nine rebounds and eight assists. Also leading the way for Maine were Jordan Mickey (21 points, 12 rebounds) and Omari Johnson (18 points, 11 rebounds), who both finished with double-doubles. For Raptors 905, Suggs finished with 20 points, while Toupane added a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Lucas Nogueira chipped in 13 points, nine assists and nine rebounds. Off the bench, Jay Harris and Nick Wiggins each recorded 10 points.
Raptors 905 and the Red Claws will rematch tomorrow, Friday, November 20 in Portland, Maine at 7 p.m.
