PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws (2-5) fell at the hands of the Erie BayHawks (4-6) tonight at the Portland Exposition Building, 109-105. The two teams will square off again tomorrow in a 5 PM rematch.

Maine stormed out to a 32-23 lead in the first only to fall victim to costly defensive lapses in the second, managing just 14 points in the second stanza to give Erie the 53-46 edge heading into half. Erie stretched their lead to as much as 18 only to see the Red Claws repeatedly battle back to inch as close as two. Close was not close enough, however, as the plucky BayHawks held on for the 109-105 victory, their second over their Eastern Conference rival this season.

Newcomer Courtney Pigram put in yet another impressive game for the Red Claws, taking home the Adidas Player of the Game honors with a 28-point effort, just missing the double-double with 9 assists in his second game in the Red Claws' scarlet and white. Paul Harris also put forward a solid game, his first of the season since joining the team this week following the premature birth of son Mason Sean on December 1. Harris put up 14 points while adding 9 rebounds. Justin Brownlee, Anthony Kent and Dom Calegari rounded out the Maine players in double digits with 17, 11 and 11 points, respectively.

For the visiting BayHawks, Tirrell Baines was one of two Erie players with 20+ points, netting 23 while adding 8 rebounds to his season tally while Kyle Spain picked up 21 points. Six BayHawks players finished with double figures, including D.J. Kennedy with a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, B.J. Jenkins with 10, Mike Gerrity with 14 and Loren Stokes with 15.

The Red Claws and BayHawks will face off again tomorrow at 5 PM. The game will be the Red Claws 3rd Annual Toys for Tots, and fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toys. All fans making a donation will be entered to win great Red Claws prizes.
