
D-Fenders Come Up Short Against Jam

BAKERSFIELD - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Bakersfield Jam 117-112 at the Jam Events Center on Friday night.ÃÂ ÃÂ For the seventh time this season, Brandon Costner was the high-scorer for the D-Fenders (7-4) after he totaled an efficient 36 points on 9-of-16 shooting (4-5 3FG, 14-20 FT) and nine rebounds. The loss makes the D-Fenders 5-2 in their last seven games.
With 13.7 seconds remaining, Osiris Eldridge nailed a contested three-point jumper to regain a two-point lead for Bakersfield (6-2). Playing in his first game with the D-Fenders, Orien Greene nailed a jumper from the left elbow to put the D-Fenders up 112-111 just 21 seconds earlier. Greene finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. His teammate Eniel Polynice followed up his triple-double performance on Monday with 19 points, six rebounds and nine assists, while Otis George recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
The Jam's 46 percent 3-point shooting, including 8-of-14 from distance for Eldridge, helped make the difference in the game. Eldridge led all scorers with a season-high 52 points (17-28 FG) and handed out three assists. His teammate David Palmer added 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Mustapha Farrakhan and Juan Pattillo chipped in14 en route to the Jam victory.
Tomorrow night, December 17th, the two teams will face off again in El Segundo at the Toyota Sports Center. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
