Red Claws Add Cedric Bozeman

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they have acquired guard/forward Cedric Bozeman from the Available Player Pool. The veteran, who has seen action in the NBA, NBA Development League and overseas, will join the team on the road in Texas today and is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Red Claws take on the Texas Legends at 8 PM. Forwards Lawrence Hill (ankle) and DeShawn Sims (foot) were waived due to injury.
Bozeman, 29, most recently played for the Reno Bighorns, appearing in 15 games in an injury-shortened season and averaging 12.2 points, 5.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game. He was selected by the Bighorns with the 20th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Development League Draft. Bozeman joined the Bighorns this season after two seasons playing overseas with teams in Belgium and China. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks in 2006 following a five season career at UCLA, appearing in 23 NBA games before joining the D-League's Albuquerque Thunderbirds to complete his rookie season. After a season playing Poland, Bozeman returned to the D-League in 2008-09 as a member of the Anaheim Arsenal and was a 2009 NBA Development League All-Star. He returned to the D-League this season after two seasons overseas. Bozeman will wear jersey #24.
The Red Claws begin their final road trip of the season tonight with an 8 PM match up with the Texas Legends. Following tonight's game, the team will head to Austin for a two-game weekend set against the Toros Friday and Saturday before playing their final road game of the season next Tuesday in Springfield. Maine will close out the 2011-12 regular season with three games at home, taking on rival Springfield on Sunday, April 1 at 5 PM and the Tulsa 66ers on Friday, April 6 at 7 PM and Saturday, April 7 at 7 PM. The Red Claws will welcome Maine's own Olympic luger Julia Clukey on April 6 while April 7 will be Fan Appreciation Night.
