Two Red Bulls Academy players saw consistent action with Red Bulls II during the month of May Out of the ten youngest players in USL Championship to see action this season, New York has two (Sam Williams and Curtis Ofori). They account for 36 percent of that group's minutes, 32 percent of the matches, and 38 percent of the starts. Look at how each Red Bulls Academy player did in the four matches in May:

Sam Williams - appeared in all four matches during May. He started three and logged 270 minutes during the four-match stretch. The midfielder surpassed his start total of six from 2021, doing it in seven less matches. He also surpassed his minutes total from last season (737) in the club's match on May 27.

Illia Tyrkus - appeared in three matches as a second half substitute. He played 85 minutes and scored his first professional goal on May 14, four minutes after subbing into the match. His goal won USL Championship's Goal of the Week and made him the 23rd youngest player in league history to score.
