New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, NJ (September 27, 2014) - The New York Red Bulls look to close out a perfect September in MLS play and stay above the red line in the Eastern Conference playoff race when they face the LA Galaxy tomorrow night at StubHub Center. Kickoff is set for 8:30 PM ET with ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes televising the game nationally.
New York enters Sunday's match unbeaten in its last four MLS regular-season matches, posting a 3-0-1 record during that stretch. The Red Bulls defeated Seattle Sounders FC 4-1 on September 20 at Red Bull Arena in the team's last MLS match.
Reigning MLS Player of the Week and MLS Golden Boot leader Bradley Wright-Phillips recorded his third hat trick of the year in the game against Seattle and is just three goals shy of tying the League's single season goal record of 27 (set by Roy Lassiter and Chris Wondolowski) with five games to play.
LA welcomes New York riding an eight-game unbeaten streak, posting a 6-0-2 record during the club's current stretch, including a 2-1 win against FC Dallas on September 20.
Sunday marks the only regular-season meeting between the two teams this season. New York earned a 1-0 win on May 19, 2013 at Red Bull Arena when the teams last met.
