Kansas City Comets News Release

SYRACUSE, NY - The Missouri Comets (16-3) wrapped up their regular season schedule away from home with a perfect 10-0 record after defeating the Syracuse Silver Knights (9-8) 8-4 in front of 1,563 fans at the Oncenter Arena.

The 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Central Division Champions will now return home to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for the regular season finale on Saturday, February 27 when they host the Baltimore Blast.

With a hat trick, midfielder Bryan Perez was named Borden Man of the Match. In addition, goalkeeper Boris Pardo recorded his fifteenth win of the campaign and totaled 12 saves to increase his save percentage to .711.

Unlike Friday night in Baltimore, the first quarter saw the most action. A total of five tallies were scored throughout the opening fifteen minutes. Perez found the back of the net to put the Comets on the board at the 6:43 mark.

However, the Silver Knights scored three consecutive via Kenardo Forbes, Darren Toby and Jerjer Gibson before Perez notched his second to end the first 3-2.

Both teams each scored once again in the second stanza to make it 4-3 at the end of the first half. Syracuse's Doug Miller and the reigning MASL Most Valuable Player Leo Gibson scored the goals.

The second half belonged to Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team as Missouri scored a total of five unanswered goals. Team captain Vahid Assadpour notched the only tally of the quarter ending the third with a 4-4 score.

Assadpour again, Perez, defender Stefan Stokic and midfielder Max Touloute scored the fourth quarter's goals to end the contest 8-4.
