REBELS RECAP SAT. DEC. 2 - Jhett Larson scored the lone goal of the shootout to give the Rebels a 3-2 win over the visiting Everett Silvertips at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Kai Uchacz and Talon Brigley scored in regulation for the Rebels. Chase Wutzke made 22 saves in regulation and overtime and turned aside all four Everett shootout attempts to earn the win. Red Deer outshot Everett 43-24 and was 0-for-2 on the power play while the Silvertips were 0-for-1.

FRI. DEC. 1 - The Rebels saw their five-game win streak come to an end by a score of 5-2 at the hands of the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Jhett Larson and Talon Brigley scored just 12 seconds apart in the first period for Red Deer's offence on the night. Ollie Josephson had two assists to run his career long point streak to six games. Moose Jaw outshot Red Deer 37-33 and was 2-for-8 on the power play while the Rebels were 0-for-2.

TUE. NOV. 28 - In his 200th career game, Kai Uchacz scored 41 seconds into overtime to power the Rebels to a 4-3 win over the visiting Calgary Hitmen at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Kalan Lind netted a goal and assist in his return to the lineup after missing nine games to injury to reach 100 career points. Frantisek Formanek and Dwayne Jean Jr. also scored for Red Deer. Rhett Stoesser made 22 saves for his fifth-straight win. Red Deer outshot Calgary 31-25 and was 1-for-4 on the power play while the Hitmen were 1-for-6.

The Rebels are out east this week for a four-game road trip that starts Tuesday night in Brandon versus the Wheat Kings. They'll take on the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday and will have an off-day Thursday before taking on the Saskatoon Blades Friday and Prince Albert Raiders to wrap up the trip on Saturday. All games this week start at 6 p.m. MT and will be broadcast exclusively on 106.7 REWIND Radio and CHL TV.

It was only fitting that one of the WHL's elite goal scorers would score the most anticipated Rebels goal of the season as Kai Uchacz scored with 10.7 seconds left in the first period Saturday night versus Everett to make it rain at the Peavey Mart Centrium on Toque and Teddy Bear Toss Night. Rebels fans were generous in tossing thousands of stuffed animals, toques and other winter clothing items to the ice in support of the Red Deer Christmas Bureau.

Stonewall stoesser

Second year netminder Rhett Stoesser is the Mitchell and Jewel Rebels Player of the Month for November. Stoesser was a sparkling 6-1-0-1 record in nine appearances last month with a .936 save percentage, 1.65 goals-against average and two shutouts. The Carstairs, AB native is fifth in the WHL this season in goals-against average (2.41) and sixth in save percentage (.916). Stoesser was the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 19.

It was a November to remember for Ollie Josephson, on and off the ice. On the ice the sophomore centre from Victoria, BC authored a career high six-game point streak that carried over into December. Off the ice, he was honoured as the Rebels Telus Scholastic Player of the Month and received a brand-new Apple Watch courtesy of Telus.
