Rebels Sign Eight Prospects

RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the signing of eight prospects.

Five players were signed from this year's Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. These five players are all born in 2001 and are not eligible to play full-time in the WHL until the 2017-18 season.

Byron Fancy (G), 2nd round, 24th overall (Hometown: Claresholm, AB)

Nicholas Draffin (D), 3rd round, 46th overall (Hometown: Lethbridge, AB)

Justin Svenson (F), 3rd round, 48th overall (Hometown: Ile Des Chenes, MB)

River Fahey (F), 4th round, 74th overall (Hometown: Campbell River, BC)

Ryan Gottfried (D), 5th round, 101st overall (Hometown: Winnipeg, MB)

Additionally, the Rebels have signed three players born in 1999.

Brayden Labant (F), 8th round, 163rd overall, 2014 (Hometown: St. Paul, AB)

Quinn Martin (F), added to Rebels protected list (Hometown: Santa Fe, NM)

Zach Wytinck (D) added to Rebels protected list (Hometown: Glenboro, MB)
