
Rebels Lead Series With 2-1 Win Over Hitmen

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen returned to Scotiabank Saddledome tonight to host the Red Deer Rebels in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series.
Calgary opened up the scoring in the first courtesy of Carson Wetsch with helpers from Carter Yakemchuk and Oliver Tulk. Red Deer would respond with goals just a minute apart from Matteo Fabrizi and Kai Uchacz to give them a two-goal lead. Just 46 seconds into the second period, Red Deer would capitalize again with a goal from Frantisek Formanek to make it 3-1.
Carter MacAdams was able put the game within one on the power play after a net drive from Ethan Moore left the puck in the crease. The game would remain scoreless until the final two minutes of the contest. With Brayden Peters on the bench and the net empty, Kai Uchacz was able to find the net to seal the deal for Red Deer making the final score 4-2.
Brayden Peters earned second star of the game making 42 saves. Shots finished 46-38 in favour of the visitors. Red Deer now leads the series 2-1. Both teams will return to the Scotiabank Saddledome Wednesday April, 5 for game four. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
