
Portland Takes 6-1 Win in Everett, Take 3-0 Series Lead

EVERETT, Wash. - The Portland Winterhawks have pushed the Everett Silvertips to the brink of elimination with a 6-1 victory in Game 3 at Angel of the Winds Arena Monday night.
Kyle Chyzowski opened the scoring 7:09 into the first period, tapping in a feed from the corner at 4-on-4 for a 1-0 Portland lead through one.
Gabe Klassen added his first of the series at 3:28 in the second period, capitalizing on a breakaway past Tyler Palmer for a 2-0 Winterhawks advantage. James Stefan netted his second goal of the playoffs on the powerplay, catching the Silvertips in the middle of a change with a rush up-ice and wiring a wrister home. Chyzowski contributed his second of the game just 23 seconds later at 17:34, giving Portland a 4-0 lead at the end of two.
Stefan scored his second goal of the night on the powerplay just 29 seconds into the third period, with a sixth goal coming off the stick of Nicholas Johnson at 15:53. Jackson Berezowski got the Silvertips on the board at 17:07, finalizing a 6-1 score.
Game 4 will be played Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena. Tickets are available.
