Rebels Acquire Second Round Pick from Seattle
May 13, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Red Deer Rebels News Release
RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, President and General Manager of the Red Deer Rebels, has announced the team has acquired a conditional 2nd round pick in the 2022 WHL Draft from the Seattle Thunderbirds (originally Kelowna's pick), in exchange for the rights to forward Graycn Sawchyn.
Sawchyn, currently residing in Victoria, Minnesota, was the Rebels 1st round selection in the 2020 WHL US Prospects Draft.
Brent Sutter - "With the inability to hold a spring camp this year, and the timing necessary for the player to make a decision on his hockey future, this trade made sense for both clubs. Gracyn is a talented player, who we hope decides to play in the WHL."
