TOLEDO, Ohio -- Right-hander Britt Reames tossed seven scoreless innings for the first time in over three years, while right fielder Raul Gonzalez and second baseman Taber Lee both slugged solo homers as Indianapolis blanked Toledo, 3-0, Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field.

The Indians improve to 11-9 overall and 8-3 on the road with their fifth straight win, while the Mud Hens fall to 9-12 on the season.

Reames (7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 SO) earned the victory, improving to 2-0 on the year. It was Reames' first seven-inning scoreless effort since July 16, 2002, when he pitched for the Ottawa Lynx.

Indianapolis, which also posted a 10-0 win over Louisville on Sunday, has now recorded two shutouts in the same road trip for the first time since May 26-27, 1999.

Tribe RHP Giovanni Carrara (1.0 IP) retired three consecutive batters in the eighth before RHP Matt Whiteside (1.0 IP, 1 H) tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up his third save of the season.

Gonzalez opened the second inning by homering off the left-field scoreboard to give the Tribe an early lead. The next inning, Lee slugged a long ball to left in his first Triple-A at-bat.

Indianapolis rounded out the scoring in the fifth when SS J.J. Furmaniak singled, stole second, advanced to third on an error, and came plateward on LF Ray Sadler's sacrifice fly.

Mud Hens LHP Wilfredo Ledezma (6.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 12 SO) took the loss despite registering a season-high strikeout total.

The two teams return to Fifth Third Field Thursday morning at 10:30 as Indianapolis concludes its five-game road trip. LHP Tom Gorzelanny is scheduled to take the hill for the Indians, while RHP Zach Miner is expected to get the nod for the Mud Hens.

The game will be carried by ESPN-950 AM and IndyIndians.com as Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley have the call. Thursday's pre-game show begins at 10:10 a.m.
