Real Salt Lake News Release

SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, April 6, 2010) - Real Salt Lake today announced that the defending MLS Cup champions have received a conditional selection in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft from fellow "MLS Class of 2005" side Chivas USA in exchange for the Discovery rights to defender Darío Delgado. Real Salt Lake had placed the Costa Rican defender on its Discovery list and had a higher priority than Chivas USA, who gave RSL the future draft selection in exchange for the Utah side dropping Delgado from its Discovery considerations.

Real Salt Lake will begin the home portion of its 2010 MLS schedule this Saturday, April 10, when the defending MLS Cup champs will welcome Seattle Sounders FC to Rio Tinto Stadium. The 7:00 p.m. kickoff in Sandy will be preceded by a special pre-game ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m., featuring the raising of the first championship banner at Rio Tinto Stadium and the issuance of MLS Cup 2009 championship rings to members of the team's roster, coaching staff and ownership group. Tickets for Saturday's home opener are still available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the phone at 888-4-RSL-TIX (888-477-5849), and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office weekdays from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. MT and on gameday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
