Reading's Wiles Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sean Wiles of the Reading Royals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 6-12.

Wiles scored four goals, assisted on four others and was a +8 as the Royals went 4-0-0 last week.

The 26-year-old opened the week with four points (3g-1a) and was a +5 in a 6-2 win against Wheeling on Wednesday. The +5 tied the single-game high in the ECHL this season. After being held scoreless in a 4-1 victory at Elmira on Friday, Wiles tallied two assists in 4-2 win against the Jackals on Saturday and then had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win against Elmira on Sunday.

A native of Beloit, Wis., Wiles has 21 points (8g-13a) in 17 games with Reading this season. He also has recorded one goal in 11 games with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.

Wiles has tallied 80 points (45g-35a) in 119 career ECHL games with Reading and Las Vegas and has added four points (1g-3a) in 14 career AHL games with Bridgeport.

On behalf of Sean Wiles, a case of pucks will be donated to a Reading youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 29,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
