Blades Acquire Devos in Forward Swap with Elmira
January 14, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Florida Everblades News Release
Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that the team has acquired center Philip-Michael Devos from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for rookie winger John Henrion.
Devos, 23, has one goal and nine assists in 18 appearances with the Jackals this season. The native of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, previously played in 22 games with the Everblades during the 2011-12 season.
"We have been looking for a good, play-making center and Philip-Michael has done a good job for us in that regard in the past," noted Blades head coach Greg Poss, who managed Devos during his time in Florida. "He had a couple good years in the AHL- winning the Calder Cup with Norfolk in 2012 and going to the finals with Syracuse last year- so we're excited to get him on our team."
On his way to the Jackals is Henrion, 22, who put up five goals and eight assists in 33 games with the Blades as a rookie out of the University of New Hampshire.
The Blades continue their four-game home stand Friday at 7:30pm when they face the in-state rival Orlando Solar Bears at Germain Arena.
Tickets are on sale right now at the Capital Bank Box Office, open Monday-Friday, 10:00am until 6:00pm.
