Who: The Idaho Stampede players and coaches

When: Wednesday, January 15, 2003

What: "Reading Stampede" program

Players and coaches of the Idaho Stampede will be at four different schools Wednesday, reading and talking with students as part of the team's "Reading Stampede" program.

- From 7:45 – 8:20 a.m., head coach Rory White will be at West Middle School in Nampa to talk to students about the importance of getting an education. West Middle School is located at 28 S. Midland Blvd. in Nampa.

- At 9 a.m., players Michael Johnson and Chianti Roberts will be at Park Ridge Elementary School in Nampa to read to first and second graders. Park Ridge is located at 3313 Park Ridge Dr. in Nampa.

- At 2 p.m., various Stampede players will be at Zion Lutheran School, reading to first, second and third grade students. Zion Lutheran is located at 1012 12 Ave. Road in Nampa.

- At 2 p.m., John Coker and Antonio Harvey will be at Whittier Elementary School reading to second grade students. Whittier is located at 301 N. 29th Street in Boise.

The ‘Reading Stampede' is a community outreach program that lets the Idaho Stampede give back to the local community. Through the program, the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation donates reading materials, as well as the team 's time, to help students from kindergarten through third grade learn to read.

The Stampede heads out on a three-game road trip, beginning Friday at Grand Rapids. Saturday the team plays at Gary before traveling to Bismarck for a Monday showdown with the league-leading Dakota Wizards.
