(Rochester, New York) - Under the intense heat of the gym at St. John College last Saturday, the Rochester RazorSharks professional basketball team held open tryouts for players to earn a chance to join the defending American Basketball Association champions for the 2006-2007 season. Head Coach Rod Baker put the players through a tough three and a half-hour workout and scrimmage session to look at the prospects.

Baker will invite 6'6" forward Joe Rebisz and 6'5 guard/forward Marvin Phillips to the RazorSharks veterans training camp in mid-October to tryout for the team this upcoming season.

Rebisz (pronounced REE-biz) is Roberts Wesleyan College's all-time leading scorer and rebounder and was named to the NCCAA's All-American First Team his senior season. Rebisz is a native of Perry, New York

Phillips played collegiate basketball at Potsdam State and St. John Fisher College and was a star player at Edison Tech in Rochester during his scholastic career.
