Rockstars owner and coach appear on radio

June 19, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Chicago Rockstars News Release

Chicago, IL. The Chicago Rockstars were special guests on "Sports Unplugged," a popular two-hour sports show on WPWX, Power 92.3 in Chicago. The Rockstars used the opportunity to explain the team's philosophy, the team name and to introduce team owner, Marques Sullivan and Head Coach Kenny Williams. "We had a great time with the guys, they are stand up people and hopefully we can do it again," said Coach Williams.

Show hosts include Leon Rogers and Steve Bardo. Leon Rogers is a sports-crazed comedian. Maybe you've seen him in the hit movie "Barbershop" or on The Miller Genuine Draft Search. Steve Bardo led the "Flyin' Illini" to the Final Four in 1989, one of the most memorable teams in NCAA history. During his successful collegiate career, he was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and made All-Conference twice. Steve played pro basketball in the NBA and abroad. Sports Unplugged is produced by radio personality legend Lisa E "the super produder." You can log on to the show's website at www.sportsunplugged.com or www.power92chicago.com for more info. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
