Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, N.Y.) - The Rochester RazorSharks of the American Basketball Association and R-NEWS, Rochester's 24-hour cable news channel, have partnered to present two public service announcements aimed at school-aged children to "Don't Foul Out" of school and sportsmanship on the and off the basketball court.

"It is important that the RazorSharks help send a message for kids to stay in school, especially when the majority of our players are college graduates as well as professional basketball players," said Orest Hrywnak, the RazorSharks Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. "With the recent incidents at area high school basketball games, our players can also set an example of how to be true sportsman both on and off the court."

The :30-second commercial spots feature RazorSharks Head Coach Rod Baker, forward Chris Carrawell (Duke University), Lazarus Sims (Syracuse University) and Scott Martzloff (Holy Cross). Martzloff is an assistant principal at Edison Tech in the City of Rochester. They were produced in a collaborative effort by the R-NEWS team and the RazorSharks.

Brian Wirth, Time Warner Cable's Vice President of Government and Public Affairs commented "The RazorSharks have taken the strength of their team to send an important message to kids across the area. R News and Time Warner Cable are proud to partner with them on this initiative.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
