Everett, WA - Orlando Razo shutout the Eugene Emeralds Saturday night, as the AquaSox won the third game of the series. Razo had a no-hitter through 4.1 innings. Cal Raleigh hit a third-inning home run that proved to be more than enough for the AquaSox. Rehabbing Seattle Mariner, Robinson Canó went zero-for-three Saturday, logging a walk in his second at-bat.
The AquaSox jumped ahead of Eugene in the second inning when Ryne Ogren's seventh double of the season came only a few feet from resulting in a two-run home run. The ball bounced off the wall in center field, giving Cal Raleigh plenty of time to score from second base.
The ballgame broke open for Everett in the third inning, ending with the Frogs on top five runs. Charlie McConnell got things started with a double to right field. With Canó at-bat, a wild pitch from Emerald starter Eury Ramos both walked Canó and allowed McConnell to take third base. Bobby Honeyman then reached first base on a fielding error by Luis Vazquez, opening the door for McConnell to score, and advancing Canó to third base. Raleigh then cleaned the bases, launching a three-run bomb to right field. Raleigh now has five home runs on the year, tied for second best on the AquaSox.
Some insurance came in the fifth inning with Raleigh at bat and Honeyman on second base. Ramos would throw two wild pitches in a row, bringing home Honeyman, 6-1 Everett. Ramos threw three wild pitches Saturday night.
Razo exited the game after the sixth inning, as Cody Brown took over in the top of the seventh. Razo had his best outing of the year, striking out four in his third win of the year. His final line was 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 SO. Razo's 44 strikeouts are good for second best on the AquaSox, only three behind Max Roberts.
Ogren hit another double in the sixth inning and, after Yan De La Cruz threw the fifth Emerald wild pitch of the night, the Elon University product safely advanced to third base. Troy Dixon then batted Ogren in on a sacrifice fly, 7-0 Everett.
The Emeralds were held to just one hit in the last three innings and the AquaSox would win their second straight, 7-0.
Sunday the Everett AquaSox will go for the series win against the Eugene Emeralds at 7:05 PM. Sunday will be the Seattle Children's Family Festival at Everett Memorial Stadium, it will be a day your family will not want to miss. In addition to businesses from around the county coming to the stadium, it will also be Mascot Mania. AquaSox mascot, Webbly will invite all his friends from around the league to join him in some fun around the ballpark.
