The Boise Hawks (27-28, 6-11) defeated the Spokane Indians (25-30, 9-8) by a final score of 7-1 on Sunday. Boise got a huge three-RBI double in the 6th to break the scoring open and help end their two game skid.

In a pitchers duel between Boise and Spokane, the first runs were not scored until the 6th inning. Boise starter Alec Byrd went five innings of scoreless baseball. The left-hander went five innings allowing just two hits.

In the 6th inning though Spokane got the first run of the game. Jairo Diaz came on in relief for Boise and allowed an RBI-single from Diosbel Arias to make it a 1-0 lead for the Indians.

But Boise started to get the bats going against starter Scott Engler. The Hawks loaded the bases up and it was Danny Edgeworth who came up with a huge three-RBI double in the 6th to make it 3-1. The Hawks added another run when Willie MacIver got caught in a run-down allowing Edgeworth to score from third making it 4-1 Boise. Edgeworth, Cade Harris and Terrin Vavra all finish with two hits for the game.

In the 8th inning, with two men on, MacIver had a three-run home run and the Hawks took a 7-1 lead. It was MacIver's 5th home run of the year.
