Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Visalia Rawhide got an outstanding pitching performance on Saturday night from starting pitcher Jose Cabrera, as they scored a 6-2 win over the Quakes at LoanMart Field.
An Jorge Puerta two-run homer in the seventh was the only offensive spark of the night for the Quakes, who finished with just three hits.
Rancho starter Payton Martin gave Rancho three scoreless innings before turning it over to the bullpen. Chris Campos (5-4) fired two scoreless frames before running into trouble in the sixth, when Visalia scored all six of their runs. The big hit capped the inning, as Anderson Rojas connected for a three-run double to make it 6-0 against reliever Fran Castro.
Puerta's second homer of the year came in the seventh off Cabrera (4-5), who was otherwise dominant over 6.1 innings.
The Visalia bullpen was perfect over 2.1 innings to keep the Quakes off the board the rest of the way.
Rancho (5-2, 44-29) and Visalia have now split the first four games of the six-game set. Game five is set for Sunday at 5pm, as Gabe Emmett (4-2) takes on Visalia's Ricardo Yen (0-7).
Sunday will be a Family RV Family Feast Night, as fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs, $1 Pepsi products and $1 ice cream sandwiches. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
