Prince George Cougars News Release

LANGLEY BC - Different night, same story for rookie goaltender Josh Ravensbergen and the Prince George. The rookie goaltender delivered his fourth shutout, on route to a 5-0 victory over the Vancouver Giants, Friday at the Langley Events Centre.

The scoring opened at 4:40 of the first period, with Terik Parascak tipping in a Tyson Buczkowski point-shot to give Prince George a 1-0 lead. The momentum continued as towering 6'6 forward Hunter Laing found the back of the net from the blue paint just under three minutes later, assisted by Keaton Dowhaniuk and Terik Parascak, bringing the score to 2-0. The Cougars entered the dressing room with a comfortable 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Cougars extended their lead with a power-play goal from captain Hudson Thornton at 2:38. Koehn Ziemmer and Riley Heidt provided the assists, with Heidt extending his point streak to an impressive 13 games. Despite Vancouver applying pressure, Ravensbergen, the rookie goaltender, stood tall, making three notable stops in tight situations in front of the goal.

The final period saw another goal from the Cougars, as Oren Shtrom displayed skill in front of the net, roofing the puck past goaltender Brett Mirwald to bring the score to 5-0. Prince George limited Vancouver to just four shots in the final period, securing the victory.
