Rattlers Sign QB Matt Sauk

MESA, Ariz. - The playoff-guaranteed Arizona Rattlers signed quarterback MATT SAUK (6-1, 225, Utah State) on Wednesday.

Sauk will be entering his third year in the Arena Football League, and has been involved in the Arena game since 2000, when he entered the league with the Nashville Kats. His best season came in 2006 with the Philadelphia Soul, when he started six games, completing over 65% of his passes for 20 touchdowns against three interceptions. Sauk most recently started three games for the Grand Rapids Rampage in 2007, and also had a stint with the Los Angeles Avengers.

The quarterback finished his four-year Arena2 career in 2005 with the most career completions (1,432), eighth highest career completion percentage (62.1%), second most career passing yards (14,142) and second most career touchdown passes (345). He also won a variety of accolades, most notably the af2 Offensive Player of the Year while with the Louisville Fire in 2005, while also being named First-Team all-af2 that season.

QB Lang Campbell was placed on injured reserve.
