
Rattlers Sign 2018 IFL MVP QB Drew Powell

PHOENIX - The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers (7-0) announced Tuesday that they have signed the 2018 IFL MVP quarterback Drew Powell, as the team begins the second half of the 2019 Indoor Football League (IFL) season.
Powell spent the 2018 season with the Iowa Barnstormers where he completed 154-of-226 passes for 1,604 yards and 34 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Powell also led the IFL in rushing with 945 yards and 23 touchdowns. Powell's 945 single season rushing yards were second most IFL history. He led the Barnstormers to their first ever IFL championship. Powell earned the IFL MVP in 2018, and first team All-IFL honors.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder played for Livingstone College where during his senior season in 2015 completed 184-of-315 passes for 2,166 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions and also rushed for 614 yards and eight touchdowns. By the end of his collegiate career, Powell broke 11 school records, including All-Time leading passer in yards, and four CIAA records. He was also the 2012 CIAA Offensive Rookie of the Year.
