IFL Week 9 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 9 of the 2019 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Quinton Pedroza (WR, Quad City Steamwheelers)

The Quad City Steamwheelers got back on the winning track in Week 9 with a 72-54 victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls. The Steamwheelers exploded for a season-high 72 points while being fueled by the explosive play of WR Quinton Pedroza. Pedroza had big plays after big plays as he caught three touchdowns for 45, 28 and 20 yards. In total, Pedroza caught nine passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Pedroza's 171 yards are the most of any player since 2014. This is Pedroza's second IFL Offensive Player of the Week award this season. The Quad City Steamwheelers travel to face the Bismarck Bucks in Week 10.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dillion Winfrey (DB, Arizona Rattlers)

The Arizona Rattlers continued their quest for an undefeated season as the team took down the San Diego Strike Force 52-14 in Week 9. After a close first half the Rattlers defense, led by DB Dillion Winfrey, shut down the Strike Force in the second half and did not allow the team to score. Midway through the fourth quarter ,Winfrey intercepted an over thrown Strike Force pass and then shifted field returning it 30 yards for a touchdown. Winfrey later ended the game as he intercepted another Strike Force pass in the end-zone with no time remaining. Winfrey finished the game tying for the team lead with nine tackles, a half tackle for loss, two interceptions, one touchdown and two pass breakups. The Arizona Rattlers travel to face the Sioux Falls Storm in Week 10.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dee Maggitt Jr. (KR, Tucson Sugar Skulls)

The Tucson Sugar Skulls fell 72-54 to the Quad City Steamwheelers in Week 9, however Tucson KR Dee Maggitt Jr. proved vital to the Sugar Skulls scoring efforts and provided one of the most exciting plays of the week. At the top of the third quarter, Maggitt Jr. grabbed a Steamwheelers kickoff and burst up the field 53 yards for a touchdown. Maggitt would finish his night with six kick returns for 120 yards and one touchdown. In total, the Sugar Skulls had 256 kick return yards as KR Treydonte Hill also had 136 yards. A starter on defense, Maggitt also added five tackles and a tackle for loss. This is Maggitt Jr.'s second IFL Player of the Week award this season (Defense, Week 2). The Sugar Skulls host the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 10.
