
Rattlers Make Moves, Re-Sign 2019 Defensive Player of the Year

PHOENIX, AZ - The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers have re-signed defensive back Devontae Merriweather for the remainder of the 2021 Indoor Football League season.
DB Devontae Merriweather (6'2", 210 lbs., West Texas A&M) rejoins the Arizona Rattlers for his third season in the IFL. In 2019, Merriweather was named the Indoor Football League's (IFL) 'Defensive Player of the Year' and helped lead the Rattlers to the 2019 United Bowl.
Merriweather finished tied for the league lead with 71 solo tackles to go along with four interceptions, 12 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 2019. Arizona also was No.1 in the league in 'Scoring Defense,' only allowing 36.4 points per game with him on the field.
