Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

BURLINGTON, IA -- The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers ended their eight game road trip with a 7-6 eleven inning win over the Burlington Bees Thursday night at Community Field. Robby Hudson raced home from third with the go ahead run on a two out wild pitch in the top of the eleventh inning. Nick Allen was the winning pitcher with two scoreless innings of relief. Joe Woerman struck out three in the bottom of the eleventh for his fifth save. The Rattlers ended their trip 2-6 and stopped the Bees home winning streak at nine game.

Bryan Sabatella gave the Timber Rattlers (20-33) a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer in the top of the second inning.

But, the Bees (26-25) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the second. Antonio Sabatini and Ethien Santana had back-to-back RBI singles to tie the game. A sacrifice fly by Josh Johnson drove in the go ahead run.

Curtis Ledbetter tied the game with a two out, RBI single in the top of the third inning. The Rattlers almost took the lead in the inning, but Sabatini made a leaping catch at the left field wall to rob Nick Prosise of a two-run homer.

The Bees retook the lead by a score of 5-3 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Brady Everett doubled in the go ahead run and scored on a single by Carlos Arroyo.

Wisconsin tied the game again on a two-out, two-run double by Casey Craig in the top of the fourth.

Ledbetter was up with one out in the top of the fifth inning and sent a liner to left. Sabatini dropped this one and Ledbetter made it to second base on the error. After a wild pitch allowed Ledbetter to take third, Prosise scored him on fielder's choice to give the Rattler the lead.

Rattler starting pitcher Jason Snyder retired the final nine batters that he faced and turned the game over to the bullpen. But, the relievers couldn't hold the lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Edgar Guaramato gave up a one out double to Mario Lisson. He got the second out, but hit Everett with a 3-2 pitch and walked Jeremy Jirschele on another 3-2 pitch to load the bases. Lefty reliever David Asher entered the game to face left hand hitting Carlos Arroyo, but the Bees sent up right hand hitting Jose Duarte to pinch hit. Asher walked Duarte to force home the tying run.

The game stayed tied at six until the Rattler half of the eleventh inning. Hudson and Jeff Dominguez had back-to-back singles with one out off Gilbert de la Vara. A ground out moved both runners up a base. Ron Garth was at the plate with a 1-2 count when de la Vara uncorked a wild pitch and Hudson scored to make it 7-6.

Woerman relieved Allen for the bottom of the eleventh and struck out the first batter of the inning, but walked the next hitter. But, Woerman fanned the final two batters to close out the game.

The Rattlers return home to begin an eight game homestand on Friday night. The Clinton LumberKings are the first team in to Fox Cities Stadium. Justin Thomas (4-5, 3.44) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Rattlers. Jake Rasner (3-4, 3.90) is scheduled to start for the LumberKings. Game time is 7:05pm. A Friday night fireworks display follows the game.
