Arizona Rattlers News Release

PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers continued to revamp their roster, today announcing the signings of three defensive backs to bolster Head Coach Kevin Guy's secondary. In addition, the team inked former Nashville Kat OL ISAIAH ROSS (6-4, 320, Nevada) and LB ANTHONY ANDRIANO (6-2, 250, Buffalo), who last played in Arena2.

"Isaiah is big and physical and has a lot of upside," said Guy. "Anthony is a play hard, high-motor guy."

Ross started in seven games at offensive line for the Kats in 2007, and helped pave the way for the team to lead the AFL in rushing yards (470) and rushing touchdowns (46), an AFL record. Andriano played in three games for the af2's Tennessee Valley Vipers and registered 4.0 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss and eight quarterback hurries.

DB ISAIAH TRUFANT (5-8, 170, Eastern Washington) and DB ARIC WILLIAMS (5-11, 175, Oregon State) will be counted upon to add a veteran presence to the team's secondary. Both have one year of experience. Despite only playing in eight games, Trufant led the Kansas City Brigade in pass breakups with 17. Williams played in four games for the Philadelphia Soul and had 16 tackles, two pbu's and recovered a fumble.

"Isaiah Trufant is a good man-to-man defensive back with great closing speed," said Guy, who also coaches the defensive backs. "Aric is a young defensive back with a lot of athletic ability."

DB RILEY SWANSON (5-11, 188 Wake Forest) is the first rookie defensive back added by the Rattlers this offseason. Swanson was in camp with the Buffalo Bills, and made it to the final cut in September as a rookie free agent. He left the Demon Deacons in 2006 as the team's fourth career leader in pass breakups with 33.

The 2008 Arizona Rattlers kickoff their 17th season in March. Season tickets, group tickets and premium single game tickets can be purchased by calling 602-379-2333.
