Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA - On Friday, October 26th, the Arena Football League held a dispersal draft to distribute the players who formally played for the Nashville Kats and Austin Wranglers.
With the tenth pick the Soul chose Johnathan Ingram, OL, of the Nashville Kats and Chris Redman, QB, of the Austin Wranglers with the 27th overall pick.
Johnathan Ingram (6'3'', 300 lbs, San Diego State) signed with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent back in April after attending a mini-camp on a tryout basis. Before that he spent three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs mainly on the practice squad, though he was activated for four games in the 2005 season. In the spring of 2004, he played with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe.
Chris Redman (6'3, 225 lbs., Louisville) also has extensive professional experience. He is currently in his fifth season in the NFL. Having played for the Baltimore Ravens for the 2000-2003 seasons, he is currently with the Atlanta Falcons. With Baltimore, he appeared in 10 games over four seasons with six starts and completing 106 of 198 passes for 1,111 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. His record as a starter was 3-3. Redman has appeared in one game so far this season for the Falcons.
Both Redman and Ingram are on the other league exempt list; Redman with the Falcons and Ingram with the Miami Dolphins. In the event that either player would be released by their current teams, the Soul would have rights to both players for the 2008 season.
