
Rascals Lose 11-9

River City Rascals News Release
O'Fallon, Mo. - River City scored nine runs on 13 hits but stranded 12 runners on the bases, 10 in scoring position, as the pitching staff allowed a season-high 17 hits en-route to an 11-9 loss.
Each team scored runs in each of the first three innings with River City (31-14) tieing the game at six with a run in the bottom of the third.
Lake Erie (21-24) scored three runs in the fourth with four straight hits to take a 9-6 lead. The Rascals got two runs back on a two-run double from Chris McClendon in the fifth but the Crushers scored a single run in the sixth and one in the eighth. River City added a run in the eighth to close the score to 11-9 and had a runner on second in the ninth when Stephen Holdren flew out to the warning track in right to end the game.
River City and Lake Erie continue the three-game series tomorrow with first pitch at 7:05.
