OGDEN - The Ogden Raptors won their final home game of the regular season with a 12-5 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars Tuesday night at Lindquist Field.

The Raptors were able to get the win with big innings in the sixth, seventh and eighth. Trailing 4-1 entering the sixth, the Raptors used the long ball to take the lead. Kelvin Ramos started the inning with a single to center. Julian Leon followed with a two-run homer to center field, his 12th of the season. Two batters later, Alex Verdugo singled to right field. Jacob Scavuzzo followed with a two-run homer of his own, his first as a Raptor in 2014, to put Ogden ahead 5-4.

The Raptors broke the game open with four more runs in the seventh. Billy Bereszniewicz was hit by a pitch to start the frame. Cody Bellinger, Ramos and Leon drew consecutive walks to push across a run. Two batter later, Verdugo hit a two-run single to right, followed by an RBI groundout by Scavuzzo to extend the Raptors' lead to 9-4.

The Raptors put the game out of reach with three more runs in the eighth. Bereszniewicz reached on a fielder's choice after Melvin Santana was safe on an error. Bellinger singled to right, and Ramos walked to load the bases. Leon drove in two more runs in with a single to left field. Yensys Capellan followed with a sacrifice fly to left to end the scoring with Ogden up 12-5.

Bernardo Reyes (3-5) earned his third straight win with two innings of relief. Reyes, Vaughn Hayward, Joe Broussard and Karch Kowalczyk combined for five innings and just two runs allowed on five hits with five strikeouts.

Leon's home run in the sixth inning gave him 12 on the year. Combined with Justin Chigbogu's 20 this season, the duo has hit 32 home runs, tied for the most in Raptors history. Brian Cavazos-Galvez (18) and Jerry Sands (14) combined for 32 homers in 2009.

The Raptors finish the regular season with a two-game series in Idaho Falls, starting Thursday. J.D. Underwood starts for Ogden against Zach Lovvorn for the Chukars. Game starts at 7:15 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
