Ogden Raptors News Release

GRAND JUNCTION - Collin Ferguson hit a two-out walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to give Grand Junction (13-25, 33-43) a 5-4 win over Ogden (24-14, 43-33) in the final regular season game on Tuesday night. Despite the loss, Ogden still finished with the best overall record in the entire Pioneer League.

Unfortunately, the league-best record does not translate to a playoff berth.

Kelvin Ramos and Ediwn Rios led off the ninth inning with back-to-back singles, but never advanced as the final game when to extra innings.

Ogden scored first in the top of the second inning on an RBI single by Faustino Oguisten. The lead was short-lived however, as the Rockies plated two in the home half of the inning on a two-out ground ball that went through Brendon Davis' legs at shortstop to bring home two runs.

Both teams traded runs in the third inning with Ramos leading off with his seventh double in the last eight games and scoring on Santana's RBI double. Ferguson hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the inning to put the Rockies back in front, 3-2.

The score held until the seventh inning when Rios led off with his second double of the game and scored on Michael Medina's RBI single. Medina then gave the Raptors the lead when he scored on Santana's RBI triple, his second run batted in of the game. Grand Junction tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when Bobby Stahel tripled and scored on Anthony Brito's RBI sac fly.

Corey Copping struck out the side for Ogden in the eighth inning, but Hunter Brothers likewise struck out the side in the top of the tenth to set up Ferguson's heroics in the bottom of the frame.

Ogden finishes the season ten games over .500, having won 24 of 32 games since the All-Star break.
