Northern Colorado Owlz News Release

OREM - In the final game of the regular season, the Orem pitching staff brought their A-game. After getting his first start as part of the Owlz, Brandon Glazer went four strong innings, only allowing one earned run while striking out four. That would be the only earned run that Orem allowed on the night as they moved to the 4-3 victory and claimed the last game of the regular season.

The Owlz fell behind the Chukars early in the first inning after Amalani Fukofuka reached on an error by second baseman Franklin Torres. He later scored on a wild pitch as Joshua Baneulos moved into scoring position. Designated hitter Brandon Dulin would plate Baneulos after hitting an RBI single to right field.

The Chukars would score one more run on the night in the top of the second inning on a throwing error by catcher Eason Spivey. The Owlz looked to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning as Jeff Boehm led off with a single. Kenny Towns and Alex Abbott then hit back-to-back RBI doubles to cut the lead 3-2. Franklin Torres tied the game after hitting an RBI single to left field.

In the fourth inning the Owlz would secure the lead as Angel Genao hit a one out homer over the left field wall. It was his first career home run for the Owlz, proving to be the winning run in tonight's game.

The Owlz close the regular season with a 41-35 record as they prepare to continue their two-game winning streak in Idaho Falls tomorrow night. The first game of the playoffs will be held there at 7:00 P.M.

The game can be heard on audio.oremowlz.com.
