
Raptors Lose Regular Season Finale

IDAHO FALLS - The Ogden Raptors lost their final tune-up before the Pioneer League Playoffs 8-3 Thursday to the Idaho Falls Chukars at Melaleuca Field.
Trailing 1-0 in the third inning, the Raptors got on the board. Kelvin Ramos walked to start the inning. Three batters later, Cody Bellinger hit a triple to left-center and scored on a throwing error for a 2-1 lead.
That was the final time the Raptors would lead as the Chukars tied the game in the third. With two outs, Marten Gasparini singled to right field. Samir Duenez followed with a double down the left-field line to score Gasparini and tie the game, 2-2.
Idaho Falls would take the lead with four runs in the fourth inning. With one out, Jecksson Flores hit an infield single to third base. After Cesar Gonzalez singled to right, Desmond Henry walked to load the bases. Brandon Downes delivered a sacrifice fly to right to give the Chukars the lead. The Raptors then brought in Abdiel Velasquez to relieve starter Victor Gonzalez. Gasparini greeted Velasquez with a three-run homer to right, giving the Chukars a 6-2 lead.
The Raptors will return home to start the Pioneer League Playoffs with a best-of-three series with the Orem Owlz. Ogden will host Game 1 at Lindquist Field with Brock Stewart taking the mound against Orem's Chris Ellis. Game starts at 7:00 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
